How We Manage Components, Deadlines, and Packaging
Kitting work lives or dies on component accuracy, packaging discipline, and release timing. This is the operational detail we sort before a build goes live.
Component Intake and Lot Control
Individual SKUs, inserts, packaging, and branded materials are received separately so every build starts from verified components rather than assumed inventory.
Batch and On-Demand Builds
We support scheduled build runs for launches and subscriptions as well as assemble-to-order workflows when the kit should only exist after purchase.
Packaging and Insert Specifications
Tissue, cards, dividers, stickers, labels, and box selection are documented per kit so packaging quality stays consistent from run to run.
Subscription Cycle Planning
For recurring boxes, we work from your monthly build window and configuration file so each cycle is staged, assembled, and queued before the ship date arrives.
Kitting and Assembly Works With Your Sales Channels.
When orders come in from any connected channel, kit builds flow automatically into the fulfillment queue. No manual handoff required.

Product Bundling
Group multiple SKUs into a single sellable unit. Define bundles by product combination, and we assemble, label, and shelve them as ready-to-ship inventory.
Subscription Box Assembly
Deadline-driven subscription builds with variable contents per cycle. We receive your build schedule, assemble each box to spec, and ship within your window.
Gift Sets and Promotional Kits
Custom gift packaging, tissue, branded cards, and promotional inserts. Every kit built per your packing instructions, not a generic warehouse default.
More Than Pick and Pack. We Build It Before It Ships.
Kitting combines multiple SKUs into a single unit before an order is ever placed. Whether you are building product bundles, subscription boxes, or custom gift sets, we handle the assembly so your team does not have to.

Five Steps: From Components to Fulfillment-Ready Kits
01
Inbound Components to Our 3PL Warehouse
Ship components, inserts, and packaging to our warehouse. We receive against the ASN, count, and slot with barcodes so BOM-driven kitting pulls stay accurate.
02
Kit Build Sheet and BOM
Document each finished kit: SKU list, assembly sequence, box or mailer, labels, and inserts. That becomes the control doc for the assembly line and QA.
03
Kitting and Assembly into Finished SKUs
We combine components into the finished kit SKU, run QC, then book finished goods into WMS inventory. The kit is now a single pick unit for ecommerce fulfillment.
04
Allocation to Orders
When a customer buys the bundle, the kitted SKU allocates like any line item. It moves into pick and pack without a separate manual handoff.
05
Outbound Shipping and Inventory Sync
We ship, push tracking to your channels, and decrement finished kit and component quantities in the WMS so OMS or Shopify stock matches the floor.

Estimated kits per month and whether volume is steady or spikes around launches or subscription cycles.
Packaging and Inserts
Branded boxes, tissue, cards, poly bags, or custom materials. Anything included in the finished kit we need to plan for.

Kitting and Assembly FAQ
Kitting and assembly is a 3PL service where components are combined into a single unit before fulfillment.
Evobox runs kitting and assembly services in Utah and South Carolina, then stores the finished kit for ecommerce allocation and outbound.
Pick and pack pulls finished sellable SKUs. Kitting builds components into one bundle SKU first, then that unit is stored and picked like any other line. Kitted and single-line SKUs run in the same Evobox facilities and inventory program—no split operation for bundle versus single-item orders.
Share the cycle calendar, BOM per shipment, and packaging or insert changes. We schedule the build, assemble to spec, QC, and release kits for outbound before your ship window.
Both. Pre-built kits sit as finished goods for fast allocation; build-to-order runs after the order when velocity, shelf life, or assortment warrants it. The workflow follows how you sell the bundle.
Subscription boxes, gift sets, promos, and bundles sold as one SKU—any case where multiple components must ship as one unit or one tracking event under ecommerce kitting fulfillment.
Yes. Box or mailer size, void fill, tissue, cards, stickers, and poly mailers follow your pack spec on every run—not a generic default.
The finished kit is a SKU or bundle record in inventory. On ship, component and bundle quantities update together so storefront availability matches the warehouse.
Kitting and assembly services run at Evobox fulfillment centers in Utah and South Carolina for national outbound as part of standard 3PL fulfillment.
